Virgin Money’s head of national accounts John Truswell will leave the lender after more than 20 years.

However he will stay on for an indefinite period to train up his replacement, Sarah Green, who was was head of sales and marketing and Kensington.

A Virgin spokesman said: “John has decided to leave the bank and it’s entirely his own decision.

“He’s going to be around to facilitate a handover with his replacement who has already been appointed.

“Sarah’s got a great knowledge of national account partners and she’s going to spend time with John over the coming weeks”.

The spokesman said no definite date has been set for Truswell’s departure, while the same applies for director of intermediaries Richard Tugwell who announced his resignation in February.

Before joining Virgin in 1996 Truswell was head of financial services at Jayman Financial Services and a branch manager at Bradford & Bingley and Nationwide Building Society.

Before she was at Kensington Green worked at Barclays, Automobile Association and AA Insurance.
