NatWest to launch large loan offering with cheaper rates

NatWest will launch a selection of remortgage products for loans above £500,000 with lower rates than with small loans.

On Monday the lender will launch 2-year fixes at 1.65% to 60% loan-to-value and 1.79% to 75% loan-to-value; as well as 5-year fixes with a rate of 2.14% to 60% LTV, 2.28% to 70% LTV and 2.43% to 75% LTV, all with a £995 fee.

For loans below £500,000 customers can get 2-year fixes at 1.90% to 60% LTV and 2.09% to 75% LTV; and 5-year fixes at 2.44% to 60% LTV, 2.58% to 70% LTV and 2.73% to 75% LTV.

Customers can take out products with those rates for remortgage or product transfer.

Mark Bullard, head of sales, said: “We recognise there is an element of a product gap in our portfolio for this particular type of customer, and by introducing these new products, this is what we are trying to do to fulfil that.

“By considering both term and LTV, this enables us to construct a product that is viable.”
