Bridgewater announces two further forum dates

The first forum will be held in Potters Bar on Thursday 25th November at the Marriott Cheshunt Hotel, Halfhide Lane, Turnford, Broxbourne, Herts EN10 6NG. Bridgewater’s second forum will take place the next day, Friday 26th November in Warrington at the De Vere Daresbury Park Hotel, Chester Road, Daresbury, Warrington WA4 4BB.

Each forum will begin at 10am and finish at 1pm - free parking is available at both venues and all attendees will be provided with lunch. As always, Bridgewater staff will facilitate both forums which are open to both existing specialist equity release advisers and those considering becoming active in the sector.

Broker forum discussions are led by the wants and needs of attendees however topics that have been recently covered include how best to educate consumers about equity release, the use of marketing and PR to generate leads, the specific legal implications when taking out a plan and methods to improve advisers’ soft skills.

Peter Welch, head of sales and distribution at Bridgewater Equity Release, commented: “These Bridgewater Broker Forums continue to offer an opportunity for existing specialist equity release advisers and those considering working in this area to meet and discuss the current shape of the market with our professional team.

“At a time when consideration of equity release and, in particular, home reversions, is growing amongst consumers at or near retirement it is important that advisers have the support and help of a provider committed to the sector. We believe that advisers should be at the forefront in getting the equity release message out to a public which is likely to be increasingly using the products in the months and years ahead.

“It is also clear that many equity release customers who would seem particularly suited to home reversions are still opting for lifetime mortgage products. While we accept that reversions will not be suitable for the majority they do provide absolute certainty particularly in a falling house price environment, and it is vitally important that advisers are able to provide detailed information on both options to their client base. We will be discussing these particular issues and many more with our forum attendees, and we look forward to meeting advisers at both Potters Bar and Warrington.”
