SortRefer has experienced surge in conveyancing transactions in the new year.

From November 2015 to January 2016 remortgage transactions have increased by 73% year-on-year and purchase business rose by 51%.

The online portal also reported significant increases in requests for its buy-to-let remortgage conveyancing product.

The company is in the process of looking to relocate to larger premises near its current Derby base.

Kevin Tunnicliffe, managing director of SortRefer, said: “2016 has started in the same way as the old year finished – Fast and Furious! With the upcoming hike in stamp duty on buy-to-let and second homes, brokers and their clients have been quick off the mark. But the volume of remortgage business has also been a revelation as evidenced by the number of broker requests being taken by our conveyancer panel.

“With our service proposition expanding and a move to new premises on the horizon, we are looking forward to a great year. The need for professional advice in all areas means that intermediaries are going to be more in demand than ever and we are here to support their conveyancing needs.”
