Employees at Primary Residential Mortgage have lent their hands to help build homes for a first-of-its-kind eco-community project organized by Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity.
The company also made an inaugural donation to the organization of $3,000. Primary Residential Mortgage is based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Thirty team members from the company volunteered more than 200 hours to help build two homes in Kearns, Utah, for the Field of Dreams-Eco Community housing project. Developed by the nonprofit together with the University of Utah, the project features 1,500-square-foot houses that only use $1.50 worth of energy per day. Twenty homes have been approved by Salt Lake County to be built in the new development.
“Working side-by-side with the future homeowner and our team members was truly a one-of-a-kind experience, and I am so thankful to the Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity for the opportunity,” PRMI COO Tom George said. “As a local mortgage lender, we know just how special it is to move into a home, and hope this family can move in sooner because of the volunteers who helped on this project.”
