Citizens Bank names president of home mortgage

Eric Schuppenhauer has joined Citizens Bank as president of home mortgage, taking responsibility for mortgage sales, operations, strategy, secondary markets, and technology teams effective March 5.

Schuppenhauer will report to Brad Conner, vice chairman and head of consumer banking.

The appointment follows the departure of Chris Nard, who has led Citizens’ mortgage business since 2015. Nard is leaving the bank to pursue other opportunities.

Schuppenhauer brings more than 15 years of senior mortgage industry experience to the role. He was most recently head of mortgage at Capital One. While there, he was responsible for all aspects of the bank’s mortgage production and mortgage and home equity servicing, including regulatory communications and both industry and community advocacy.

Earlier in his career, Schuppenhauer held leadership positions within the mortgage businesses of JPMorgan Chase and Fannie Mae.
