These features can add almost 30% to a home sales price

While some classic home features are rarely out of favor, current trends can vary; and can add thousands of dollars to a home’s selling price.

For spring 2018, sellers with heated flooring, a steam shower, or outdoor kitchen, could be achieving a sale price well above above asking.

Zillow has analyzed listings and found that including the words “steam shower” meant a premium price of around 29%, with meditation rooms and free-standing tubs also likely to mean the highest prices.

“While everyone has different style preferences, when it's time to sell, being specific and strategic with your home's listing description can have a big financial payoff," says Jeremy Wacksman, Zillow's Chief Marketing Officer.

Making sure that home listings include the most in-demand features, possibly as images, is a strategy sellers and real estate agents should be aware of he said.
