Sotheby's International hits record global sales volume

Brokers and agents with Sotheby’s International Realty Affiliates Inc.  have achieved the brand’s highest ever global sales volume.

The firm says that in 2017, its affiliates generated around U$108 billion through a total of approximately 22,000 agents and brokers and nearly 950 offices worldwide.

"In 2017 we witnessed the expansion of the global economy," said Philip White, president and chief executive officer, Sotheby's International Realty Affiliates LLC. "The Sotheby's International Realty brand is in 69 countries worldwide, so we were well-positioned to both contribute to and benefit from that growth. The success of the global economy, coupled with our strategic goals, yielded outcomes better than we could have ever anticipated in 2017."

US leads through revenue, expansion
The bulk of the sales revenue was generated in the US ($96 billion) where the brand added 6 independently owned and operated residential real estate firms to its network and 58 new offices.

There were mergers and acquisitions here too with the brand increasing its market presence in San Francisco Bay Area; Castle Rock, Colorado; and in Southern Florida and Key West; as well as entering new markets in Roseville, California; Avalon and Stone Harbor, New Jersey; the Central and Western Adirondacks regions of New York; Greater Greenville, South Carolina; and southeast Wisconsin.

There was expansion internationally too with Sotheby’s International Realty establishing itself in new markets in Spain, Belgium, Rhodes, Vietnam, Indonesia and Sri Lanka; and several key markets in India.
