Are you operating in one of the states with the highest instances of mortgage loan fraud per capita in the country? If you operate in California, Nevada or Florida, then the answer to that question would appear to be yes. According to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network’s (FinCEN’s) recently released Mortgage Loan Fraud Update, California was the state with the highest number of mortgage loan fraud suspicious activity reports (SARs) per capita last year, when it came to SARs with “relatively recent suspicious activity.”
