A South Carolina realtor suspected of being a serial killer has been charged with three new counts of murder, in addition to the four he’s already facing

    Realtor should be held to the same standard as mortgage brokers and have their fingerprints taken every three years, their credit report run every December and no misdemeanors! But because they have a voting block of over 1 million people, the two losers Dodd and Frank left them out and Obama signed it Due to politics. Everybody involved should sue Dodd/Frank and the federal government for leaving them out!!!

    REALTOR? Not all real estate brokers belong to the association and only those that do may use REALTOR in relation to them.
    In Washington all real estate brokers are fingerprinted once every six years. Every effort to weed the baddies out. More often the broker is the victim rather than the perpetrator.

    Realtors should be under the same rules as mortgage brokers, and in that group should be appraisers and anybody else that goes into peoples houses and are trusted with them and their families.
    The most important thing is not allowing them to have more than a traffic violated violation misdemeanor, if this were the case like it is with mortgage brokers, this guy would've been found out. In the mortgage world all the bad apple brokers/originators are gone because they had to go through a recertification process and anybody that had a police record failed and are not in our business anymore, but due to politics our democratic led president and Congress abdicated their responsibilities.
    All realtors in this country should go through a new certification process that they will either pass or fail.

    Blaming Dodd Frank for not including realtors is ridiculous. Blame the state as in California, a criminal record check is done for realtors.

    How Horrible. Here in Tx we have high standards for Mort. & R.E. Brokers. You get behind on child support you can't sell. Also I had one man apply who was a Deacon at his Church . Stand up guy & he was convicted of home Burgelry when he was 18. Didn't get his license until after many letters & Investigations back in early 80's now it's even tougher.

    Good news get this Maniac of the streets & have closure for poor families. Tx every1 gets Fingerprinted & extensive background checks.

    Give us a break... How he obtained a State of South Carolina real estate license is a good first question.
    Where is NAR on this story and it's editor. The killer MAY not have held membership in the National Association
    of Realtors® . It's a trademark issue. All Realtors® are State Licensees, but not all Licensees are Realtors®

    Hi, folks! Thanks for the heads-up on the use of the word "Realtor." Kohlhepp has been described in numerous other publications as a realtor, and his Manta profile as of the writing of this piece listed that among his memberships. However, he has understandably been scrubbed from pretty much every industry website's database, so there's no way to know for sure. With that in mind, I've edited the story to refer to him as a real estate agent. I apologize for using the more specific term realtor in the initial version.

    Hey re2000, if this perp was treated like Nmls licensed originators according to the SAFE act, he would not be a realtor due to his prior rape. Originators are nationally licensed since ummm
    People ummmm move.... ummmm ya know relocate...
