The Mortgage Bankers Association has partnered with Operation HOPE to promote sustainable home ownership.

The mission of Operation HOPE is “making free enterprise work for everyone.” The organization provides financial literacy programs for youth and functions as a nonprofit private banker for the working poor and middle class.

“This strategic partnership with the Mortgage Bankers Association enhances the reach, capability, and credibility of our national plan to become the nation's first private banker to the poor and struggling middle class,” said Operation HOPE Chairman and CEO John Hope Bryant.” Together, we can help more renters become homeowners, and struggling homeowners keep their homes during this economic recovery.”

The MBA will provide Operation HOPE with the opportunity to engage with MBA members and work with EverFi, an MBA partner that provides online financial literacy training. The MBA will also support Operation HOPE’s Project 5117, an attempt to strengthen the economy by focusing on those who earn less than $50,000 per year.

“Operation HOPE is a leading name in economic empowerment and financial literacy among the working poor, the underserved and the struggling middle class,” said MBA President and CEO David H. Stevens. “MBA and its members are excited to work with HOPE to promote responsible, sustainable homeownership to communities across the country.”
