“Angel Oak’s reputation attracted me to the company, but it’s really the growth potential for non-QM that sealed the deal,” Marr said. “Lenders understand that today’s non-QM market is different and their comfort level with the products continues to grow.”

Last year, the Atlanta-based mortgage lender had a record of over $1 billion originated loans in 33 states.

“There is a real sense of urgency in the non-QM market right now,” said Tom Hutchens, Angel Oak senior vice president of sales and marketing. “Lenders of all sizes are realizing that non-QM products can help them grow their business by reaching new customers. We are seeing more and more mortgage banks offer these products, which is why we are so excited to have Sean join the Angel Oak team.”
