A top mortgage company is doing its part to give back to the community with a charity bid to help the homeless.

Wallick & Volk Mortgage has announced it has made a $10,000 donation to Mesa, Arizona, -based House of Refuge. The organization is a non-profit providing transitional housing and support services to homeless families and individuals in crisis. House of Refuge has said nearly 20% of Arizona families live at or near the poverty level, and significant life events can often push families over the edge into homelessness.

Wallick & Volk Mesa branch manager Brian Rogerson said the non-profit was making a tremendous difference to families and individuals in crisis.

"The House of Refugee is making a real difference in the lives of people in crisis right now.  Approximately 100 adults and 150 children on any given day are provided with a safe home and social services to assist in every way you can imagine.  We are thrilled that we could support this effort," Rogerson said.
