HOT 100: When Rick and Patty Arvielo founded New American Funding in 2003, they envisioned a company focused on good pricing, fast home loan closes and excellent customer service. Today, New American Funding boasts over 800 employees and funds more than $400m in home loans each month. The company recently landed on Inc. 5000’s list of the nation’s fastest-growing companies for the second year in a row. The Arvielos are also active in Big Brothers Big Sisters, bringing a mentorship program to New American Funding to teach kids important life and workplace skills. In addition, Patty is deeply involved in the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, and earlier this year spearheaded a campaign to address challenges faced by Hispanic homeowners.

Previous: She began her career in the mortgage industry at the age of 16, focusing on networking with real estate agents and growing her home purchase loan business. In her 20’s she received her VA LAPP Certification. She joined Countrywide and was instrumental in helping the company establish their strong presence in the Orange County area. In 1997, she joined the new start-up New American Financial and led its operations unit. In 2003, she left New American Financial and together with her husband, Rick, they launched New American Funding.
