WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., September 20, 2011 — Fifth Street Finance Corp. ("Fifth Street") (NYSE: FSC) today announced the closing of a seven-year, $200 million credit facility with its long-term partner, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation ("SMBC"), an affiliate of Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, Inc. (NYSE: SMFG). The credit facility, which bears an interest rate of LIBOR plus 2.25% per annum, will be secured by first lien assets and includes an option for a one-year extension. The credit facility continues the long-standing partnership between Fifth Street and SMBC, which is an investor in, and an advisory board member of, a Fifth Street affiliated fund.
