Black Knight taps former DOD consultant

Black Knight has tapped a longtime Defense Department consultant to head its new 'innovation laboratory'

Black Knight Financial Services, a leading software and date provider to the real estate industry, has tapped longtime Defense Dpeartment consultant Dan Kenshalo to head its new “innovation laboratory,” according to an Inman news report.

Kenshalo has spent 12 years helping the DOD design multi-petabyte systems, according to Inman. A petabyte is 1 million gigabytes.

“Dan brings a wealth of experience in both consulting, systems and technology that can help our clients with a wide array of challenges, including the analysis, storage and processing of rapidly growing data sets,” said Black Knight data and analytics division president Kevin Coop.

“I’m looking forward to leveraging my experience with big data sets to show Black Knight clients effective alternatives to traditional applications for better managing the functionality of large, complex data sets,” Kenshalo said.

Prior to joining Black Knight, Kenshalo was a senior associate at Booz Allen Hamilton, which provides management and technology consulting services to the U.S. government. He has also worked as a software engineer for Northrop Grumman.
