He’ll be playing with smaller, albeit heavier balls in August, but Golden State Warrior Steph Curry may just be right in his element on the fairways.

The two-time NBA MVP will be hitting the greens later this year in the Ellie Mae Classic at TPC Stonebrae in San Francisco as part of his team’s fundraising campaign for its home charity, the Warriors Community Foundation.

HousingWire reported that the star athlete does not do badly on the links, having a handicap of less than two, according to Golf Digest.

“Golf has always been a passion of mine and it’s a dream come true to get the chance to play inside the ropes amongst the pros in a PGA Tour-sanctioned tournament,” Curry told HousingWire.
The Ellie Mae Classic is a Web.com tour and is a minor league for professional golf.

Jonathan Corr, Ellie Mae president and chief executive, said that the company is proud of the basketball star’s participation in their tournament.

“He’s a terrific player on the court and we expect him to dominate on the green as well,” Corr said.
