Lenders like to tout their wide product range, their lightning-fast turnaround times, their cutting-edge technology. But what really matters to brokers?

Good article, I agree many lenders drop the ball and don't provide the service they should to brokers. I'm a private lender myself and the only way we are able to provide the level of service that I think is required is to control the process start to finish. We do underwriting in house, our attorney does docs, we order title, and ultimately service the mortgage etc.. so that nothing gets dropped. There is one contact which allows us to close mortgages in as little as 5 days Many conventional lenders have so many different specialists (appraiser, pre closer, funder, etc..) that issue are bound to happen. If you have the need for a private lender a good question to ask is do they control the entire process start to finish
