Wells Fargo thinks it's paid enough

Wells Fargo and the U.S. government have a minor disagreement. The government thinks Wells should pay a lot of money for making bad mortgages, and Wells thinks it’s paid quite enough money, thank you very much. Wells paid $5 billion in a settlement over servicing two years ago and says that should be enough, but the government says it needs to be held accountable for making shoddy mortgages as well. So on the one hand you've got a massive soulless corporation, and on the other, the federal government. Hmm. Hard to know who to root for here.

    Good point on not knowing who to root for. But just because they were penalized for one wrongdoing doesnt mean wells shouldn't answer for another
