Rather than using it to help troubled homeowners, several states used funds they received from a settlement with mortgage lenders to pad their budgets or fund pet projects

Why would anyone be surprised with this. That is the normal course of business with government, give with no supervision, and reward the states and skip helping mainstreet. That is what the whole program has been since we went into the current crisis in 08. Business gets the bailout and mainstreet gets the bill.

Disgusting. All these do-gooders politicians proselytizing about helping 'those less fortunate'. What a load of crap.

Wonder who these states are? And who their leaders are? I can almost 100% guarantee that they belong to the same party who forced the government shutdown, made every attempt to derail Obamacare, failed to set up exchanges, etc. Why are the American people putting up with this crazy Republican Party? Why are people in these states keep voting against their own interest and vote these people in?
