When will folks get the message that if you want to own a home you have to " SAVE " for it ? These first time homebuyer initiatives send the message that the government AKA " The Taxpayers " will help you buy your house with down payment. Is it any wonder taxes are so darn high ? The money is coming from tax payers . I understand we need to have incentives to stimulate the housing market, but this down payment assistence is what got us into trouble in the first place. No one has a" RIGHT" to own a home. What a novel idea, having to save in order to purchase a home . Yes it is the American Dream, but time to use common sense.
