    I don't live in an "oil state" but I don't want them to suffer any kind of economic downturn. I do not have the figures to support this but my guess would be that it would be beneficial to America if oil prices went up to the point it remained profitable to keep fracking. Otherwise the laws of Supply and demand dictates that as soon as the excess oil is used up prices will rise but there will no longer be oil being produced by fracking because it wasn't profitable. This will further push up the price of oil. Hmmm
