It’s the topic the media isn’t covering and the one every mortgage player wants to read about, according to a seasoned originator

Tha HVCC was rescinded in 2010 by Dodd-Frank. You need to get your facts straight.

The HVCC has been gone for several years. It was replaced by Dodd-Frank. Perhaps you should learn to research before publishing. If you want to discuss appraisals, appraisers or to them....not mortgage brokers and mortgage officers.

Players have a very short memory. It was the cozy relationship between the Mortgage Broker and some appraiser that always seems to “hit the value” that cause serious overvaluations and the mortgage meltdown. This is not opinion but fact supported by the billions of dollars in mortgage repurchases by the GSE due to overstated and inaccurate valuations. If you feel you have a misrepresented appraisal then report that appraiser to the state board. Report an AMC to a state board as now they are a regulated industry. Dodd/Frank created a number of ways in which to report misrepresentation.
