American Bankers Association Taps MountainSeed’s Carl Streck To Discuss Best Practices in Real Estate Portfolio Valuation During Acquisition

ATLANTA, March 22, 2012 – The American Bankers Association, the nation’s largest banking association and voice for the $13 trillion industry, has selected Carl Streck, principal of MountainSeed Appraisal Management, to lead a session as part of its upcoming Real Estate Lending Conference at the Seaport Hotel in Boston, Mass., March 25-27. MountainSeed is a provider of appraisal management services to community and regional financial institutions.

Streck’s session, “Evaluating CRE Portfolio in an Acquisition,” is based on his professional experience in management, analysis, and evaluation of commercial portfolios and its application during mergers and acquisitions between financial institutions. He will discuss best practices and methodologies for valuating portfolios as well as compliance strategies to help bankers react to constantly evolving industry regulations and guidelines.

In addition to speaking at the ABA Real Estate Lending Conference, Streck has previously led sessions for the Georgia Bankers Association (“Managing the Appraisal and Evaluation Process”) and the Michigan Bankers Association (a two-part presentation covering compliance strategies and best strategies in valuations). MountainSeed was also recently endorsed by both the Virginia Bankers Association and the Community Bankers Association of Georgia.

“The commercial real estate landscape is constantly changing and the high number of acquired portfolios in recent years has created a need for industry professionals to know the exact value of their assets,” said Streck. “I am honored for the opportunity to share my experience to address how pressing this issue is and what needs to be done moving forward.”
